i am so grateful for my international experience in first year. going to the castle not only helped me discover who i am, but also led me in the direction of some pretty incredible people.
it also brought me into a pretty amazing community at queen's. not only am i a part of this amazingly spirited school, but i also have the opportunity to meet up and learn from international students, and other 'castle kids' like me. i remember my first couple of months at queen's, not knowing anyone in second year, not being able to find my classes, and being overwhelmed by the expectations from me. meeting new castle kids, and even exchange students who are going through a similar thing, bring me back to that day and inspire me to help them out, and make their experience at queen's the best it could be.
not only was newts week a success (in my opinion), but it also reminded me of some of the great people with whom i went to the castle. they really are some pretty incredible people, and even if i did stay in touch with them over the past two years, i still got to see a different side of them this week.
being a castle kid defines who i am, and i'm quite alright with that...
